The Calendario de la Raza was initially published in 1999 and it sold out every year. The calendar featured local artists who donated their art to the calendar project. In return, the funds generated by the calendar helped fund student/community projects such as Community Service Learning and Mission Gentrification Oral History Project and other programs for students. The calendar also featured monthly highlights of important Chicano/Latino events.
Due to budget cuts, calendars are no longer available for purchase. The Department of Latina/Latino Studies hopes to reinstate this beautiful calendar once we have seed money towards a first print.
